Accra Hearts of Oak earned all the applause yesterday afternoon at the Liberty Carl Reindorff Park, as they were presented with the league title.
Accra Hearts of Oak won the 2006/2007 league season, their 19th League title, a week ago finishing the premiership league with a total of 58 points from 30 matches. Won 16 matches, drew 10 and lost 4 and scored 33goals in all matches.

Nevertheless, a week after this achievement, the new league champions were decorated with the premiership trophy as a specially arranged match-day which saw the Phobians take on 7th placed, Liberty Professionals in a ceremonial encounter.
Hearts, which had an 18-point gap separating them from Liberty Professionals, however drew goalless at the Carl Reindorff Park.
Jubilant players, technical staff and officials of Hearts of Oak led by team captain, Hassan Mohammed mounted the platform to be bestowed with the league honour won after 30 weeks of footballing action.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, FA President, Welbeck Abra-Appiah, the Chairman of the Professional League Board and officials of league sponsors – One Touch, handed over the trophy to the Phobians.
Aside the trophy, the Phobians together with the three other teams that made the top four – AshantiGold, Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions will share a 200 million cedi package.
Accra Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold will be representing the country for next season’s CAF Champions League competition while Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions take their places in the Confederation Cup.
