Last Sunday, FAK-REM Football Academy/Club played a friendly match in honour to the matriculating studens (coaches and psorts manager) to mark the Matriculating Ceremony of the academic year 2006/2007 of the National Institute for Sports (NIS).

The match was visited by many FAK-REM supporters, the matriculating students, their relatives, friends and other well-wishers.
This is the first time that FAK-REM Football Academy played an opponent from the Akute area, Ogun State, a neighbouring state of Lagos State.


FAK-REM fielded a strong first team to prove the audience their good work and development with the student coaches from the National Institute of Sports.


The FAKREM team showed an inspirational performance in the first half and took the lead through excellent Liberian striker Alexander Sesay (23rd min.). The other FAK-REM top striker Chinedu Obinor added another goal before the break (31st min.). FAK-REM went into halftime with a convinient 2-0 lead and a superb performance.


Woth a convinient 2-0 margin, the FAK-REM team took a little bit the foot of the accelarator and two defence errors, due to lack of communication and concentration brought Paradise FC back into the game. On minute 56 Kunle Stephen scored the first for Paradise FC and top striker Solomon Oni equalised for the team from Akute.


But "Man of the Match" FAK-REM captain Mathew Ajibove scored the winner after attacking midfielder Babatunde Ijaleye set the FAK-REM captain free with an excellent pass.


The match ended 3-2 for FAKREM Football Academy/Club and the matriculting students were very happy with the result but even more with the way and style of play. Such encounters are the ideal occassions to show the excellent work done by the FAK-REM Management and Coaches that integrate the student coaches as part of their pratical coaching programes with the National Institute for Sports.
