Ali Jarra, of JUST Goalkeeper Academy, is a master teacher, coach and mentor for goalkeepers of all ages.


For over 5 years, Ali Jarra has been the goalkeeper coach at Accra Hearts of Oaks, one of the great Premiership Clubs in Ghana. Jarra has since created the JUST Goalkeeper Academy, which offers the best quality training for goalkeepers in the capitol Accra, Ghana. There is none of this kind of Football Academy in Ghana. Jarra has risen to this level through years of dedication and presenting it to goalkeepers in such a way that it commands results and helps the athlete to develope to the best of their abilities, no matter of the level.





JUST Goalkeeper Academy was formed in the year 2000 by Ali Jarra, former Ghana U17 and U20 national goalkeeper. Ali Jarra, who had a bright goalkeeping career and was Ghana’s U17 and U20 national goalkeeper from 1990-93, had an injury after the FIFA World Cup Under-17 tournament in Japan 93 that left him almost paralysed. Ali was not able to continue with his career at the young age of 17 years. Ali Jarra was Ghana’s goalkeeping hope for the future but his career came to a abrupt end at a very young age. He took part in the FIFA and CAF Youth Tournaments including, Italy 91, Japan 93, Mauritius 93 and Australia 93 and won many awards such as Toyota best player, SWAG best player and Pegueot most promising star.


After his career, he thought about Ghana´s need of excellent goalkeepers for the nation and decided to develope young and exceptional goalkeepeing talents to raise them to international standard. His greatest attributes are his unique ability to relate to keepers of all ages, his motivational skills and his positive energy and enthusiasm. He is highly respected by both, players and coaches, of all levels.





Jarra´s JUST Goalkeeper’s Academy goes well beyond training and drills, instead providing a full variety approach focused solely upon the goalkeeper position, providing a platform for the complete training for athletes playing the position solid dives beyond standard practices found elsewhere, the Goalkeepers are not only trained, but are taught and educated in every aspect of the goalkeeper position. With the power derived from the focus on a single position, coupled with techniques and innovations drawn from Jarra’s indisputably impressive career, the goalkeepers will be starting a journey that will lead well beyond progress.


JUST Goalkeeper Academy was created to offer the highest possible training for a truly unique position in the game of soccer. Anyone who is involved in the game knows that goalkeeper training is highly specialized and it incorporates all aspects of one’s being to master it. It is a time honoured process that takes development in technique, tactics and personal psychology.


The academy has taken an innovative and unique approach in helping keepers to become the best that they can be at the position of a goalkeeper, at any level. His ever growing list of high level goalkeepers now includes Sammy Adjei, Laud Quartey of Accra Hearts of Oak, Joseph Halm and Ben Mensah of Premiership side, Accra Great Olympics, Kotei Blankson of Liberty Professional, Raymond Fenny of Agaza in Togo, Sani Mohammed who has just signed a contract in South Africa, among other excellent but until now, still unknown talents.





Jarra, interest is in not only offering the best possible training for today’s goalkeepers, but also in the development of the character of the athlete. The position is truly unique in sports because it incorporates not only all aspects of athleticism and knowledge of the game, but also those of character, such as leadership, confidence, intelligence, competitiveness and psychological strength. If a goalkeeper trains intensively, with proper dedication and technique, learns the game, then he or she will have a long and enjoyable career in the game.
Jarra, values establishing relationships with its goalkeepers. Once he begins training, a personal interest is taken in each keeper’s progress in the position. He looks forward to training goalkeepers and knows that the training that will be received, will extremely be beneficial to the goalkeeper.


Currently JUST Goalkeeper Academy trains 50 goalkeepers ranging from the category U12 to adults.
