Ghana is situated on the West coast of Africa and it is bordered on the West by Cote d’Ivory, on the East by Togo and on the North by Burkina Faso.
Ghana boasting a long and distinguished football history and enjoying a status among the heavyweights in the African continent has enjoyed a tremendous success on the youth level, winning the world under-17 title twice and finishing second at the World Youth Championship twice as well. Ghana is a four-time winner of the African Nation Cup: 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982. After decades of underachievement in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Ghana will make the first appearance at the World Cup Finals in Germany 2006.
Ghana has a track record of producing exportable football talents over the past decades. In Ghana you will be exposed to a vast pool of skill and a passion for the game that is not often encountered in other parts of the world. Many of the clubs have trained youngsters who have gone to pursue professional career in the game, both within the country and on the international stage. There has never been a shortage of talents in Ghana’s ranks as their profile at youth level suggests. Football is the number one sport in Ghana.
Over the years Ghana has produce wonderful footballers such as Abedi Pele, Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah, Anthony Yeboah just to mention a few.
A lot of Ghanaian footballers found their ways into first teams of some of the world’s best club teams. There is plenty of talent in Ghana and many more Ghanaian football players will make their way to professional careers in top clubs around the world.
