Match Report: FAK-REM IFE team v Odduduwa High School 5-3 (2-1)

The FAK-REM Football Academy Team IFE has qualified for the semi final of the U19 Local Government Football Championship by beating Odduduwa High School 5-3. The quarter final match was played Thursday, 6th of April (4:00 pm local time) at the IFE City Stadium, Ile Ife Osun State of Nigeria.
FAK-REM IFE took the lead by a superb goal by 18-year old striker Obinor Chinedu. After 30 minutes FAK-REM IFE extended the lead through supporting striker Ezeji P. Obina. Five 5 minutes before half time Odduduwa High School came back into the match by scoring the 2-1 which was also the half time result

The second half was clearly dominted by FAK-REM IFE. A good team effort with excellent combinations showed attractive attacking football by the IFE Team and as a result, FAK-REM IFE extended the led in the 57th minute. It was again, FAK-REM´s IFE sensational striker Obinor Chinedu who found the net. Obinor was set up by a direct pass from central defender Avwogua Andrew and then broke through the Odduduwa defence to shoot the ball past the opponents goal keeper into the net. But just 4 minutes later it was Odduduwa High School who cut the lead to just one goal again. It was the High School´s Akeem Ojo who capatalized from a defence error by FAK-REM defenders. In the 65th minute, FAK-REM extended the lead again. Ezeji P. Onina was brought down and the resulting free kick was converted directly by the fouled player Ezeji himself. It was again, striker Obinor Chinedu, who scored the 5th goal by penalty for the FAK-REM IFE team. In the final minutes of the match, the Odduduwa Boys scored their 3th goal through a corner kick from the left which was headed into the net by Segun Loius.
The match finally ended 5-3 for FAK-REM IFE. It was an exciting match with many goals. The FAK-REM team dominated and deserved the win. Man of the Match was stunning young striker Obinor Chinedu who scored 3 goals for his team. But also the defenders Idris Momoh, Omeni Lawrence and Avwogua Andrew have to be especially mentioned due to their hard work and their efforts. The excellent passing skills and combination initiated the FAK-REM attacks from the back and set up the midfield or even strikers direct up front.
