Francis Akinremi Manager of FAK-REM Football Academy in Lagos will be scouting football talents at the U18 Football Tournament of the National Sports Festival. The National Sports Festival Football Tournament is the perfect place to identify raw football talent. Also the Nigerian Football Association will be present to observe the up-coming talents and evaluate the soccer developement right at the basis.


The National Sport Festival will be held for 2 weeks between 6th-20th April 2006. All 36 States of Nigeria including the capital city Abuja will be participating in all sports which also include
soccer, athletics, racket games, combat sports e.t.c. The National Sport Festival started back in 1973. The participating player or athletes have to be pure amateurs and no professionals are allowed to take part in this sports venue. The National Sports Festival have become the "Mini-Olympic" Games in Nigeria.

The aims and the objectives of the Festival are the promotion of mass participation in amateur sports from the grassroots level throughout the
country with a view to discovering hidden talents in Nigeria.

This year´s National Sports Festival is tagged "Gate Way Games 2006" and will be held in the OGUN STATE in the Southwest of Nigeria. Nigerian president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo will be attending the Games as special guest.


Francis Akinremi will not only scout the football tournament for talented football players but he will also attend the tournament in the capacity of the National Institute of Sport to conduct research on sports administration, theory of training, exercise physiology, sports psychology etc.
